A practical example
A portrait photo does not become a good square product card by forcing equal dimensions. Preserve its proportions first, or use Image Studio's contain setting to place the entire subject on a square canvas. Use cropping when the surrounding area can be removed without losing the product.
Does resizing change the file-size limit too?
It changes pixel dimensions. The file bytes also depend on format, content and encoding quality; use target-size export for a byte limit.
